Evanescence has sold nearly 18 million albums worldwide to date. Following their major-label debut Fallen, Evanescence continues their meteoric rise with their CD, The Open Door (Wind-up Records), which was released on October 3. Evanescence становятся популярными, группу признают новаторами, открывающими новое звучание в музыке. Сочетание женского вокала Эми Ли и тяжелой музыки придает коллективу фирменное звучание.

В 2003 году группа возвращается к активной студийной работе и записывает несколько песен, среди которых “Bring Me To Life” и “My Immortal”, вошедшие в саундтрек к фильму «Сорвиголова». Вокалистка группы Evanescence Эми Ли недавно рассказала журналистам, что однажды ее отец, сам о том не подозревая, дал ей главный совет ее жизни. «Играла ли я в школьной пьесе, выступала ли с группой в какой-нибудь кофейне, папа всегда говорил мне одну и ту же фразу: «Иди, выложись по полной, покажи класс, старайся, что есть сил, но не забывай, что, в первую очередь, ты должна получить удовольствие». И я такая: «Да, пап, разумеется!» И чем больше я выступала, тем более отчетливо я понимала, что это лучший совет в моей жизни. Потому что если ты не веселишься, не получаешь удовольствия от процесса, у тебя никогда ничего не получится не то что отлично, а даже просто хорошо», – рассказала певица.
